Well lads, let’s start this week’s blog post with a huge thank you from myself and the entire Mind Full Podcast team (hi, Brian!). With your support and love for all things Mindfulness (with a bit of craic), we have reached #1 on both Apple Podcasts and Spotify! We couldn’t have done it without your support and I owe you all a cuppa to say thanks (a virtual cuppa that is I mean come on, I’m hardly Daniel O’Donnell).
This Week on The Mind Full Podcast….
In this episode, I’m sitting down with none other than my former co-host and longtime friend, Dave Moore. Yep, you heard me right – after over two decades of working together on the Dermot and Dave Show on Today FM, Dave and I are finally reuniting for a chat that’s bound to be filled with laughs, insights, and maybe even a few tears (but only the good kind!).
The Mind Full Podcast is the latest offering in Dermot Whelan’s highly successful Mind Full adventure. The Mind Full Podcast is a home for people whose minds are…well, full! Dermot explores the topics that can help us to calm a frantic mind, understand our behaviour and explore our own potential.
With a new topic of focus each week in discussion with an exciting array of guests ranging from Hollywood stars, musicians and broadcasters to expert technical contributors from the world of science, listeners will get the best information to help them make positive changes in their lives and create that mental space to live their days with more joy.

Can friends have break ups? Do men handle break ups differently to women? What do you do if you fall out with a sibling? In this episode we explore the tricky topic of relationships – how best to navigate them, appreciate them, change them and, if required, end them! The people we spend time with shape who we are and how we feel so get ready for a deep dive into relationships in all their forms.
This week’s guest is none other than my former radio co-host for over two decades, Dave Moore. Dave and I lived in each other’s pockets since 2002 until, that is, I told him I was leaving the Dermot and Dave Show on Today FM last August after 21 years on air together. It has been quite the adjustment for us both and we get right into it in this conversation.
Our technical guest this week is Louize Carroll from Prism Therapy Online who guides us through the various types of relationships and the challenges that we can face with each one.

Meet My “Ex-Work Wife” Dave
Now, let me tell you a little bit about Dave and me. We’ve been through it all together – from the highs of radio success to the lows of, well, trying to survive each other’s company day in and day out! But all jokes aside, Dave truly is like a work-wife to me. We spent over two decades living in each other’s pockets, until I dropped the bombshell last August that I was leaving the show. Needless to say, it’s been quite the adjustment for both of us as we transition from being super intense radio partners to just being super casual BBF’s (best bro friends).
Exploring the Tricky Terrain of Relationships:
In this episode, with Dave’s trademark wit and wisdom, we tackle all the things that best friends don’t usually talk about because that’s the kind of friends we are. And we find out what Dave really thought about me leaving the show! But be prepared – there may be tears as it’s totes emosh (do the cool kids still say that?!)
Insights from Rockstar Psychologist Louize Carroll:
But wait, there’s more than Moore! Joining us for this enlightening chat is none other than rockstar psychologist Louize Carroll from Prism Therapy Online. As well as being an international name in the world of psychology, Louize is also the kick-ass bass player in the legendary Irish band The Blizzards.
Together, the three of us delve deep into the intricacies of human relationships, sharing insights, stories, and maybe even a few laughs along the way.
That’s A Wrap…
So there you have it, folks – a glimpse into the world of Dermot and Dave, friendship, and the importance of cherishing the relationships that truly matter. I can’t wait for you to hear our chat and get a sense of just why Dave and I outlasted all the other radio duos out there. This is an over-due conversation, one you won’t want to miss!
So, what are you waiting for? Click that play button, sit back, and let’s navigate the wild and wonderful world of relationships together. And hey, if you like what you hear (which I know you will), don’t forget to hit subscribe and come back for more every Monday. Because here at The Mind Full Podcast, there’s always something new to discover and plenty of laughs along the way.

This week’s episode is Good Grief with award-winning and record-breaking comedian Jason Byrne & psychotherapist Dr. Richard Hogan. The fear you have when you say you’ve got an episode about grief is that people will think it’s super depressing but actually it’s not. It’s the opposite. It is poignant, at times hilarious and really really special.
Irish comedian Jason Byrne is the biggest selling comedian in history at the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has appeared on the biggest TV comedy shows across the UK including BBC’s Live at the Apollo. He has also produced a very special one-man show called Paddy Lama all about his Dad Paddy, who he lost in 2020. In this beautiful and downright hilarious conversation, we explore the transformative power of grief and show that the most important thing we can do for a loved one that has died, and for ourselves, is to talk about them.
We’ve also got another wonderful guest to discuss the subject of grief – celebrity psychotherapist and author Dr. Richard Hogan. It’s a pleasure to welcome Richard back to the series and our conversation explores grief from all angles: how we navigate loss as children and adults, how everyone’s grief is different and even the language we use around death. It’s a fascinating, and I hope super helpful, conversation that could make all the difference for you or someone you care about.
