This week on the show we have another amazing guest – and another amazing Mind Full Live recording! Earlier this month we put on a live show in the beautiful Lark Concert Hall in Balbriggan, Dublin with Danny O’Reilly, the frontman for one of Ireland’s most successful bands – The Coronas – to discuss the power of music, while also treating us to a couple of stunning live performances in this very special show.
Danny has also been part of my musical memory for nearly 20 years. I first came across the Coronas when they burst on to the Irish music scene with their album Heroes or Ghosts back in 2007. Danny is a natural performer, hailing from a very musical family which includes his mother the much-celebrated singer Mary Black and his chart topping and talented sister Roisin O. Danny has cleverly and successfully navigated a constantly changing music industry over the last 20 years driven by a deep lying drive to express himself as a musician and a performer.
We were also joined on stage on the night by The Mind Full Podcast’s Producer Brian Connolly, who has a PhD in psychoacoustics. Brian joined us to discuss the neuroscience behind the power of music!
The Coronas new album Thoughts and Observations is out now and go to thecoronas.net to see all their live dates including 5 nights at The Olympia in December– their Xmas shows there are legendary. They also play vicar street Dublin, the INEC arena in Killarney and Ulster Hall Belfast so grab your tickets if there are any left.

From Heroes to Observations with Danny O’Reilly
For almost two decades, Danny O’Reilly has been a driving force in Irish music. With hits like Heroes or Ghosts and San Diego Song, and a brand-new album, Thoughts and Observations, The Coronas have solidified their place in the hearts of fans at home and abroad. I first came across the Coronas when they burst onto the Irish music scene with their debut album back in 2007.
Over the years Danny, Knoxy, Conor and Dave, when he was with the band, were regular live performers in the studio and and at live radio events. They were great friends of Today FM’s Dermot and Dave show, and Danny has always been incredibly generous and patient as we rang up repeatedly to take part in whatever hair-brained schemes we had dreamt up.

A Night to Remember in the Lark, Balbriggan
Coming from a family of musical icons (his mum is the legendary Mary Black, and his sister Roisin O, a star in their own rights), Danny’s journey has been truly inspiring. In our chat, we discuss how music can shape emotions, build memories, and even act as a form of mindfulness.
This live episode was recorded at the beautiful Lark Concert Hall, and it was an unforgettable night. From insightful chats to intimate performances, Danny’s stories and songs remind us how music and mindfulness can go hand in hand. So whether you’re a lifelong fan of The Coronas or just love a good tune, this episode has something for everyone.

Welcome to a very special pop-up episode of the Mind Full Podcast with special guest and music sensation Tom Grennan!
Tom is a phenomenal singer songwriter from the UK with proud Irish roots – and he has a brand new single out right now which he is dying to tell you all about.
His breakthrough UK #1 and BRIT-certified GOLD album ‘Evering Road’ included platinum-selling anthems ‘Little Bit Of Love’ and ‘By Your Side’ — both of which scored in the Top Three most played songs of 2021. Tom already counts four UK Top 10 singles to his name. And a hat-trick of his 2022 songs, ‘Remind Me’, ‘Not Over Yet’ with KSI and ‘Lionheart (Fearless)’ with Joel Corry, were all named in The Biggest Songs of 2022 by The Official Big Top 40.
After the incredible success of his 2023 album ‘What Ifs and Maybes’, he is back with a brand new single, ‘Shadowboxing’, out right now, a brand new album “Everywhere I went Led Me to Where I didn’t Want to Be” due for release next August and he has just announced his biggest ever UK and Ireland Arena Tour Grennan 25 which includes a Dublin date at the 3 Arena on Sep 13th.
In this fascinating conversation, Tom speaks about his creative process, self-care and much, much more.
